Free pet care advice

Guineapig In Hand

We're inviting families to learn about pet care and meet some furry friends at our free 'handle a pet' session on Saturday, May 25th from 11am until 4pm.

Members of our Pet Centre team will be on-hand to offer expert advice on caring for domestic and more exotic animals. People will also be able to meet and handle a variety of animals, including some guinea pigs, lizards and spiders.

Our Pet and Reptile Centre Manager, Liz Woodward, will also be bringing along her dogs Spider and Ace, who have become very popular with our customers. We hope lots of people come along to meet our pets and learn more about them.

All of the animals available to handle on the day will be brought into the garden centre by the staff and friends of the centre who enjoy showing off their pets.

To stay up to date with our pet handling days, and all the other events in the pet centre, then take a look at Spider's famous Facebook page "Spiders Web at Monkton Elm"

Thinking of buying a bunny this Easter? Get free advice

Beth -Irving ,-Morley -Vets

We will be giving our customers free advice and tips on choosing a new pet bunny from Monday, March 18th until Sunday, March 24th.

Rabbits make excellent pets and we will be hosting drop-in advice sessions to help people select a bunny and answer any questions they may have.

We have also teamed up with Morley Veterinary Centre inTauntonto give customers a 10% discount voucher for rabbit neutering and vaccination when they buy a bunny from our Pet Centre this year.

Like dogs and cats, rabbits are susceptible to numerous diseases and some of these can be prevented by routine vaccinations. Neutering not only stops unwanted matings, but can also make both does and bucks less territorial and aggressive.

It is vital to the animal's health that they receive the correct care. We have worked with Morley Veterinary Centre on various pet events and promotions in the past and we are looking forward to linking with them again.
